For the most part, Hawaii, being in the tropics, has a fairly stable range of temperatures from low 60 degrees Fahrenheit to the mid 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Manoa Valley though, has its own microclimate and tends to be cooler and wetter due to its elevation and forests.
In fact, it’s classed as a rainforest, which means that even when it’s completely dry in nearby Waikiki, it could be raining and misty at Manoa Falls. This means that you are very likely to see a rainbow or two on the Manoa Falls Hike!

Manoa Falls Weather in Winter (Dec – Feb)
Expect gentle, misty rains. Temperatures are cooler, but rain showers are frequent.
Unlike tropical monsoons, the rain is actually quite refreshing on this easy hike, though a rain jacket or poncho is advisable. Besides, the waterfall is much more impressive after rains!
Sturdy hiking shoes are a must since the trail can be slippery in places.

Spring is a fabulous time to see vibrant blooms, a riot of colors amidst the green! An excellent time to see many of Hawaii’s pretty forest birds.
While mostly sunny, you may encounter occasional showers.
Manoa Falls Weather in Summer (Jun – Aug)
Temperatures range from 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit, and definitely drier, though afternoon showers are commonplace.
Though easier to hike Manoa Falls trail, the waterfall itself tends to be underwhelming.
Manoa Falls Weather in Autumn (Sep – Nov)
While temperatures are a comfortable 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, you’re more likely to encounter rain showers. Pack a light rain jacket or poncho.
The water flow at Manoa Falls improves, but is best viewed after rains.
