How Far is Manoa Falls from Waikiki?

Manoa Falls is only 5.6 miles from Waikiki, making it one of the more accessible nature trails to a waterfall near Honolulu.

How to Get to Manoa Falls from Waikiki?

If you plan to rent a car on Oahu, you can drive to Manoa Falls.

Driving directions to Manoa Falls from Waikiki are straightforward and the drive typically takes 20-30 minutes.

Head north on Kalakaua Avenue and turn left onto South King Street. Follow the signs to H-1 West and take exit 23 to merge onto Punahou Street.

Continue onto Manoa Road and the road ends at the trailhead.

Parking for Manoa Falls trail is at the Paradise Park lot near the trailhead. You pay a small parking fee ($7 as of this writing), but it’s convenient and secure.

How to Get to Manoa Falls from Waikiki by Bus?

You can take Bus #5 from Ala Moana or Kalakaua Avenue stops. You get off at the last stop, Manoa Road / Lower Campus.

The bus ride takes 30-40 minutes, less convenient than driving but you don’t have to hunt for parking.

The trailhead is a short 10 minute walk from the bus stop, head north on Manoa Road.

Waikiki to Manoa Falls by Taxi or Rideshare

If you don’t have a rental car on Oahu and prefer a quicker option than the local bus, you can also opt for a taxi, or an Uber or Lyft, to get from Waikiki to the Manoa Falls Trailhead and back.

If you choose a taxi, arrange for a pick-up at the trailhead for your return trip at a scheduled time, because you will likely not find taxis waiting around there.

You should be able to get a rideshare at the trailhead pick-up point unless it is early or late in the day.

Note that your taxi or rideshare will drop you off by the parking attendant station on Manoa Road, from where it is a few minutes’ walk to the trailhead. You will be picked up for your return trip here as well.
